About BBWU

BBW University was founded in 2022 by Paysley Hudson, a visionary who saw a need for a space where plus-size women could be truly celebrated — without having to compromise who they were or feel pressured to conform to anyone else’s version of beauty. Paysley understood the fine line between sexualization and self-expression, and she wanted to create an outlet that empowered women to embrace themselves fully, beyond just their bodies.

At BBW University, fitting in has never been the mission. Standing out is the goal. This sisterhood is about being seen — really seen — by yourself first, and learning that self-love is not dependent on validation from the outside. Here, big isn’t just a body size; it’s a declaration of confidence, courage, and unapologetic authenticity. The true flex is embracing who you are, celebrating your uniqueness, and owning your story.

Since our founding, BBW University has been steadily making strides to build a space where women of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences can come together, connect, and be celebrated. From gatherings and photoshoots to mentorship and creative expression, every initiative we create is rooted in empowerment, visibility, and community.

Our unique university-style approach creates an environment for intentional growth, genuine connection, and unwavering support, free from judgment or body shaming. This is a space where you belong.

From guided self-reflection and journaling experiences to empowerment workshops, community engagement activities, and university-style learning spaces, we provide diverse pathways for personal and collective growth. We celebrate storytelling, visual expression, and offer mentorship opportunities, all culminating in joyful recognition of every sister's journey. Our core goals include fostering self-awareness & self-love, creating a safe & affirming community, encouraging education & personal growth, developing confident leadership, promoting mental & emotional wellness, and celebrating plus-size joy & visibility.
